This painting is the demonstration painting I did for an abstract floral workshop. I found myself getting emotional as I painted because there were a backlog of thoughts and emotions that had been trying to get my attention; it wasn’t until I was standing in front of a class of beautiful creative women painting that my mind was still enough to hear them.

As the floral shapes made themselves known on the canvas I became aware of how much my soul needed a break. A place to smell the roses, so to speak. This painting looks to me like the feeling of walking through an overgrown garden, bustling with life, as you take in the colors, scents, and gentle swaying of the flowers.
