Studio Art: The building blocks of art, 7-12 grade
This art course is designed to develop the student’s creative process through a 12 week study of the building blocks of art. Growth in skill and technique will be encouraged throughout the process. Prior art-making experience is not necessary to be successful, as this class will be accessible to all skill levels. We will cover line, shape, form, space, color, value, and texture through various media and techniques. Wherever you skill level, studying the elements of art will result in better mastery of the creative process.
This class will be on Thursdays 2:30pm-3:30pm, starting January 15th-April 2nd. After registering for the class, the students will receive a syllabus via email with a supply list. These supplies are to be used by the student at home for their daily sketchbook assignments. All supplies needed in class will be provided. Classes can not be made up or refunded if missed.
I’ve taught homeschool students for seven years, both studio art and art history, out of my studio and in co-op settings. I have a Bachelors degree in History & Art from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I’m passionate as a teacher in helping students develop their personal style/voice while discovering the profound God given gift of creativity within them.
